Moving home happens for a number of reasons. We may have family changes, need a bigger place, or relocate for work or lifestyle. In this blog, we are sharing tips on how to make packing your home easier.

1.  Get rid of anything you don’t need

The first step to packing a house is to get rid of anything you don’t need. This includes items that are broken, damaged, or no longer used. Getting rid of these items will not only make packing easier, but it will also lighten the load for removalists. Also, this will help you reduce the cost of your move.

2.  Sort your belongings by room

Once you have removed all of the items you don’t need, the next step is to sort your belongings by room. This will make it easier to pack each room individually and will prevent you from forgetting any items.

3.  Pack one room at a time

The best way to pack a house is to pack one room at a time. This will help to keep you organized and will prevent you from getting overwhelmed. Start with the room that is easiest to pack and work your way through the house until everything is packed.

4.  Use strong boxes

When packing your belongings, be sure to use strong boxes that can withstand being moved around. Cardboard boxes are ideal as they are sturdy and relatively inexpensive. Avoid using plastic bags as they can easily rip and tear. If you need packing materials, ask for your removalist to include this in your quote. The crusader removals team can help here.

5.  Label all of your boxes

Labeling all of your boxes is crucial as it will help the removalists to know where each box needs to go in your new home. Be sure to label each box with its contents and the room it needs to be placed in.

6.  Pack heavy items in small boxes

When packing heavier items, such as books or dishes, be sure to pack them in small boxes. This will make them easier to carry and will prevent the bottom of the box from collapsing under the weight.

7.  Use padding for fragile items

When packing fragile items, such as glassware or electronics, be sure to use padding such as bubble wrap or towels. This helps protect your belongings from being damaged during the move.

8.  Don’t overpack your boxes

It’s important not to overpack your boxes as this can make them difficult to carry and could cause them to break open during the move.

9.  Make a list of what’s in each box

In addition to labeling your boxes, it’s also a good idea to make a list of what’s in each one. This will come in handy if any of your boxes happen to get lost during the move

10. Get the right-sized truck or removalist

Knowing the size of the truck you need will help you to do your move in less trips, and this can make it more efficient and effective. If you don’t want to do it yourself, and you would prefer to use your time doing something else, reach out to the team at Crusader Removals
